Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
The department of Languages, Cultures and Visual Studies is home to 16 languages and cultures, with a very diverse, international staff and student body. EDI matters are central to our teaching and research.
We continuously work to decolonize the curriculum, give voice to marginalized groups, and include non-dominant languages and cultures. We place a strong focus on promoting intercultural competence.
We endeavour to respect, include and provide equal opportunities to all students, regardless of background, ethnicity, gender, sexuality or (dis)ability. We use inclusive language and advocate for those facing discrimination or microaggression.
