Postgraduate Researcher
Modern Languages

My learning of film and television subjects started at Hong Kong Baptist University and Nottingham University. Working experience as a scriptwriter in Shanghai inspires me to explore the connection between literature and TV dramas. To fulfil my desire of digging into the cultural context and audience behaviours behind TV adaptations, I decided to continue the journey as a scholar.

Now I am a first-year PhD in the department of Modern Language, conducting interdisciplinary research on the topic of female-oriented online literature adapted to TV dramas. Research questions expand on adaptation research with three perspectives: as process, as product and as reception, digging to how cultural background factors influence adaptation during the process, what tendencies adaption presents as product, and how audience preference and behaviours influence the reception of adaptations.
