Luca Brunke

Postgraduate Researcher
Art History and Visual Culture

As an AHRC-funded PhD student, I am currently working on a project to create research- based 3D reconstructions of Renaissance built environments in Florence. This project is jointly supervised by the University of Exeter and the National Gallery, London. My research focuses on the management of uncertainty, the integration of art historical research data, and the collaboration with art historians in the context of 3D reconstructions. Originally based in (digital) archaeology, I combine my knowledge of historical contexts with digital humanities techniques.

My previous experience includes working as a Research IT 3D Modeller for the Florence4D project with the University of Exeter and Cambridge. And as technical support and advisor for the eScience Centre at the University of Tübingen. My academic background includes a BA in Archaeology and Palaeoanthropology, a Certificate in Digital Humanities from the University of Tübingen, and an MSc in Digital Archaeology from the University of Leiden.
